SCHEDULE OF EVENTS



The tradeshow will run from Wednesday evening (Jan. 27) to the afternoon of Friday (Jan. 29).

The Registration desk will be open on Tuesday the 26th from 2pm. So plan to arrive on Tuesday so you will be ready for the opening welcome and breakfast on Wednesday morning.

Day One - Wed. Jan 27:

Starts with opening breakfast and welcome(included with the full registration package), in the Ballroom.
The breakfast this year is being sponsored by



CSIA - Classroom training all-day, and exam late afternoon.

Defect Recognition - Seminar for the Insurance, Fire and Inspection industry with John Carleton (Past President of ARWETO), from mid-morning to 5:00 P.M. with tradeshow included and dinner optional in the one-day package.

Fireplace Restoration & Estimating - A specialised programme developed by Chris Prior (NY State Guild Trainer and Instructor) especially for the sweep's trade.

"All-New" Service, Safety and Solutions - "CSAC Credit Course" for gas appliances, including venting technology and the house as a system, will be available all day at an extra nominal fee (Registration Limited).       Zigi Gadomski (accredited WETT instructor and Master Chimneysweep) will be the presenter, with Graham Turnbull (formerly of Fuel Safety Ontario).

Tradeshow - begins @ 5:00 P.M. with dinner served in the tradeshow area.

Day Two - Thur. Jan 28th:

"All New" - Masonry - Beginning at 8:00 A.M. All-day hands-on masonry workshops will include brickface styles and shapes, hearth rock edge, stucco, brick replacement, roof-up repairs, scaffolding, basic masonry techniques for the beginners, and much, much more. (Several Canadian and U.S. Tradespersons will be hosting separate workstations).

How to Sell Your Business! - Many people have found that their business is not worth what they think it should be worth. Suzanne Dombrowski (CPA and senior partner in a progressive U.S. Accounting firm) will present a seminar on how to structure and prepare your business for future sale. Susanne always plays to a full house. Her insight always shocks and inspires, so if you're considering selling (or buying) a business, this seminar will be informative, invaluable and a real eye opener.

Networking with Insurance Adjusters, Home Inspectors and Code Officials - Moderated by Ashley Eldridge, Director of Technical Services for the National Chimney Sweep Guild.

Chimney Defect Recognition (for the sweep industry) - Presented by John Carleton - Master Chimney Sweep (Inspection and Restoration Services)

Mechanical Code Updates - With Jim Brewer, Technical Advisor for the National Chimney Sweep Guild

Trade Show - from 6:00 to 10:00 P.M.

Day Three - Fri. Jan 29th:

7:00 - 8:00 A.M. Complimentary Continental Breakfast

Changing Bodies / Changing Lives - Geared specifically towards the physical and mental stress associated with the chimney sweep trade: Three Sessions on your well-being to include Chiropractic, Massage Therapy & Homeopathy; also detoxifying our body and lungs of the dangerous substances we may encounter in our work. Discussion on preventive therapy related to keeping a healthy and active body and mind. This will also be valuable to those of us who have to deal with the daily stress of operating our own businesses.

CPR Heart Saver - Pre-registration limited to 20 persons. Instructors are Bob and Marge Fish (this is a complete CPR training programme.)

Tradeshow - 11:00-2:00 with Lunch in the tradeshow area.

New (horizontal) Venting Techniques - And systems for higher efficiency oil burning appliances, presented by Martin Wawlra of Pro-Tech (Ventinox) venting products.

New Sweeps Forum - Always interesting Forum presented by "seasoned" chimney sweeps. A lively and informative exchange of ideas & ideologies; there will be more focus on the differences and similarities of the trade, internationally.

"BINGO" - 7:00 P.M. to ???..... Donations of equipment, supplies, and money to be won by lucky sweeps.

Day Four - Sat. Jan 30th:

What is IAQ...Really? - Back by popular demand, and un opposed (for the morning session), will be David Hill for a full day of an intense and realistic approach to the myriad of causes, diagnoses, and practical solutions related to poor indoor air quality. Add John Norton, 20 yrs. medical background, and now a full time chimney sweep, to instruct on how to diagnose and treat the sick building syndrome effects that the human occupants must live and deal with every day. Lots of good information and answers.

Motivational Sales and Hiring New Employees - Two separate seminars by the down to earth and much sought after trainer Jim Baynes, from "Copperfield Chimney Supply", will fill out the last day of seminars and workshops.

Cocktails and the Chimney Sweep Banquet and Ball - Beginning at 7:00 P.M. Live entertainment provided by "Vox Violin", (fresh back from a European tour) with the "Cybersweeps off the wall Rooftop Ensemble".
